Our Story
The Promise Land Department of Security was founded in December of 2027, during the years-long effort of the New Promise Coalition to reduce waste and protect our earth’s most precious resources. When the Promise Bill 1200 received Congressional approval in 2031, the Promise Land Department of Security (now the Department of Leisure and Security) was formed with a robust team of our nation's brightest minds dedicated to creating a fair and safe way to initiate the Promise Bill 1200, while preserving a fruitful nation for our most valuable citizens. Our team consists of hundreds of appointed staff and officials. We assure you that every member of our board is dedicated to protecting the future of America and ensuring our most valuable citizens thrive.
Meet the Team
CHIEF OF STAFF OF THE PROMISE LAND DEPARTMENT OF LEISURE AND SECURITY
W.B MITCHELL
W.B MITCHELL is Chief of Staff for The Promise Land Department of Leisure and Security, a position he has held since the organization’s official inception. In this role, he helps oversee the US Government’s now second-largest agency and works to advance the Department’s mission and organizational priorities.
Before joining the PLDLS, Mitchell was an active board member for Koch Industries’ Principal Based Management team from 2017-2027, where he led the global team in modifying the framework and vision of Koch Industries to help empower employees, capture opportunities, and curtail any gaps of the company. During this time, he worked hard to lift Koch Industries’ environmental efforts and bring to light the fantastic and innovative efforts of the company. He worked closely with department heads to correct employee dissatisfaction and propose correctional practices that best served the company.
From 2005 - 2017 Mitchell served in a range of domestic policy, environmental advocacy groups, and managerial roles in both the Democratic and Republican administrations. He concluded his direct work with the Executive Office as the assistant to the Deputy chair of the Bureau of Prisons under the Department of Justice.
He holds a Bachelor's in Political Science and Current Affairs from Brigham Young University and a Master's in Public Policy and Legal Philosophy from Stamford University.
Military Adviser within Citizen Welfare and Security Enforcement
Rear Admiral Wilma Patterson
Admiral Patterson is a highly esteemed Military Adviser within Citizen Welfare and Security Enforcement, a sector dedicated to upholding the safety and well-being of the nation's populace. Patterson pursued her academic aspirations at Brown University, where she obtained a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Conflict Resolution. This educational foundation fostered her passion for understanding the complexities of global dynamics and pursuing peaceful solutions.
Patterson's military career began after the 9/11 attacks when she served in the United States Armed Forces. During her tenure, she was deployed to various conflict zones, where she witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of war on civilians and military personnel. She also realized the importance of strength and an unwavering offensive strategy.
In her role, Patterson oversees the deployment of all Freedom Canines and communications to mayoral citizens via Freedom Phones. She’s ensured a swift and effective city reduction process and oversees our weekly city reduction process.
Under Secretary for the Science and Technology Directorate (S&T)
Dr. Samuel Morgan
Dr. Samuel Morgan, a prominent figure in the scientific community, currently serves as the Under Secretary for the Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) within the PLDLS. Driven by his liberal ideals of environmentalism, Dr. Morgan presents himself as a champion for sustainable practices and innovation.
Dr. Morgan completed his education at MIT, earning a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Biological Technology. Throughout his academic journey, he became known for his groundbreaking research on Brain Interface Chips, later moving to Microsoft to continue his research. Simultaneously, he was brought on to aid in shaping Quadruped Unmanned Ground Vehicles with the Boston Dynamics.
While at the PLDLS, Dr. Morgan is responsible for the research and creation of Freedom Canines and his work continues to help us improve the reduction program.
Under Secretary for Counterterrorism and Threat Prevention
Dr. Edward Lawson
Dr. Edward Lawson, a distinguished academic and strategist, is the Under Secretary for Counterterrorism and Threat Prevention within the PLDLS.
During his tenure, he worked on the Anti-Terrorism Advisory Council for the US Attorney’s office. He also spent time at Goldman Sachs, where he worked on private sector partnerships as a cyber security analyst.
Dr. Lawson has led some of the most groundbreaking campaigns against current domestic terrorists formed after implementing Promise Bill 1200. He’s created our current program on combating terrorists while empowering citizens to use their resources to mitigate the harm of a growing sector of extremists. Under Dr. Lawson's leadership, the Counterterrorism and Threat Prevention division embarked on covert operations to safeguard the nation against external threats.
Director of Leisure, Department of Citizen Wellbeing
Lily Thompson
Lily Thompson, a charismatic and vibrant individual, holds the esteemed position of Director of the Citizens’ Wellbeing Agency. With a commitment to the mental well-being of citizens, Thompson is a compassionate advocate for leisure and recreational activities while we enact the Promise Bill 1200.
Thompson graduated with honors from Colgate University, where she acquired a Bachelor's degree in Psychology specializing in Behavioral Sciences. Her educational background provided her with a nuanced understanding of human behavior and the importance of leisure in promoting mental wellness.
Before her current role, Thompson worked in the Department of Veteran Affairs. Later, Thompson founded BRIGHTSTAR, an organization dedicated to providing safe and fun education to at-risk youth.
As Director of Leisure, Thompson orchestrates many engaging and entertaining activities that capture the citizens' attention during this difficult time. Her biggest campaign is the Promise Idol competition, which has been reported to have boosted citizen happiness by 79.3%. As the Director of Leisure, Thompson ensures that citizens remain captivated by entertainment and mental health services
